Albertsons Companies, Inc. is seeking qualified candidates for Finance Analyst I. Position to be located in Boise, ID.


Responsible for assisting in the preparation of various financial activities including data gathering, trending, modeling, forecasting, planning, and reporting for the pharmacy division. Collects information from various sources to assist in the building of models to provide insight to underlying business dynamics. Provide analysis that enables management to make solid business decisions. Contribute to the annual budgeting process, the weekly forecast process, and other initiatives as they arise.

Job Responsibilities and Accountabilities

*Prepares accurate and timely Pharmacy financial related analyses, research, and forecasts.

*Compiles and prepares graphs and charts to report business trends

*Conceptualizes, develops and presents business cases to Managed Care, Finance, and business leadership

*Participates in special financial and business related studies as needed to support project objectives

*Develops, interprets, analyzes and assists in developing complex business strategies

*Provide financial perspective on changed or alternative strategies under consideration by senior management

*Partners withother functional departments in the preparation of analyses and to identify improvement opportunities that can provide positive results to scripts, sales and margin

*Develops and maintains special analytical tools and recommendations for actions to improve profitability and operational efficiencies

*Interacts on a regular basis with Pharmacy leadership to prepare reports, investigate variances and respond to inquiries

*Applies moderate to significant level of Pharmacy Managed Care knowledge to solve a variety of issues

*Acts as an informed team member to management to provide analysis of information, insights into the performance of the business and project direction input

*Exercises independent judgment within defined practices and procedures to determine appropriate action

*Use a variety of tools (Microsoft Access and Excel, MicroStrategy, TeraData, etc.) to mine data

*Owns and/or plays leadership role in crucial planning and analysis processes, including but not limited to Managed Care contract rate negotiations

Job Requirements

Relevant Experience, Education, Certification, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

*Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related field preferred

*Fortune 500 experience strongly preferred

*Ability to be a team member and demonstrate skills to contribute to team dynamics

*Possess excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

*Demonstrated ability to work effectively withothers within a complex, fast paced organization required

*Capability to work independently when needed

*Ability to manage recurring tasks along with adhoc requests

*Ability to manage confidential and proprietary information

*Prior experience (minimum 5years) in pharmacy, emphasis on Managed Care preferred

*Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office including Access, Excel, and Outlook

Physical Environment

*Minimal travel may be required

*Most work is performed in a temperature-controlled office environment

*Incumbent may sit for long periods of time at desk or computer terminal

*Incumbent may use calculators, keyboards, telephone, and other office equipment in the course of normal workday

*Stooping, bending, twisting, and reaching may be required in completion of job duties
