Introduction to BlueOval City

Ford is investing $11.4 billion to build two state-of-the art manufacturing facilities, BlueOval City in Tennessee, and BlueOval SK Battery Park in Kentucky.

These brand-new advanced manufacturing facilities will use Ford’s 100-years of automobile manufacturing expertise and will be among the largest automotive manufacturing campuses in U.S. history. Like the iconic Rouge complex in Michigan did a century earlier, BlueOval City will usher in a new era for American manufacturing and will harness Ford’s global manufacturing expertise and innovative technologies.

Ford has selected to partner with SK Innovation for their battery expertise and Redwood Materials to design a manufacturing ecosystem that has as minimal impact as possible on the surrounding environments. BlueOval City embodies the transformational Ford+ plan for growth and value creation in combining existing strengths and new capabilities.

RESPONSIBILITIES

What you'll do:

  • Coach safety, quality, and productivity teams to ensure objectives are met through the development of and adherence to standardized work. Through process confirmation and building worker accountability, ensure that the production line is running safely, smoothly, and producing quality parts.
  • Teach, confirm, and ensure adherence to All Operating Systems.
  • Responsible for the training and implementation of production work teams.
  • Drive the Manage the Change (MTC) process. Ensure compliance to process and communicate changes to Team Members.
  • Develop relationships with other areas to achieve business results and resolve issues at the floor level having one goal in mind – Be the best manufacturing facility in the World.
  • Ensure training gaps are identified and plans implemented to achieve versatility requirements.
  • As a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on Maintenance be a teacher to production areas on the basics of the Maintenance Operating System (MOS)
  • Clear understanding of scheduling production, line releases and maintenance.
  • Strategic planning and coordination of Kaizen (Continuous Improvement) activities to achieve Safety, Quality, and Productivity objectives.
  • Six Sigma problem solving skills to support continuous improvement mentality.
  • Drive and optimize Preventive Maintenance (PMs) processes.
  • Ensure all safety standards are met during maintenance activities.
  • Assist in addressing equipment down time issues.
  • Support and coach problem solving activities within the department, focused on Reliability and Maintainability.
  • Coordinate Maintenance Planning and Shutdown Planning actions within the department.

QUALIFICATIONS

You'll have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 5+ years of Supervisor experience.
  • Experience with Microsoft including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Must have leadership skills to lead, empower, and develop Salary and Hourly employees
  • Strong communication skills (verbal & written). Must be able to summarize complex issues.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Production, Maintenance and/or Quality experience.

Even better, you may have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering preferred.
  • Experience as Plant Team Manager or Production Supervisor preferred.
  • Industry 4.0 experience preferred.
  • Master’s degree preferred.

Additional Information

Travel is expected throughout 2023 along with relocation to TN.
