Veeco's Field Service team is seeking a high-caliber Field Service Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will work closely with customers in developing solutions to equipment issues. In addition, you will teach customers in the operation and maintenance of Veeco systems, working under general supervision and following established policies and procedures to ensure we consistently meet or exceed company and customer quality standards. You will leverage your considerable interpersonal and engineering skills to work on problems of diverse scope. Demonstrate judgment and expertise in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. The successful candidate will be expected to be proficient on all Veeco process equipment. Location: Fort Collins, Colorado
Represent Company in dealings with a single customer to achieve high customer satisfaction with equipment and prepare reports to the customer in operational status project meetings and daily activities
Act as a Trusted Advisor to the customer to optimize their systems and operations
Perform activities during installation, upgrade, testing, warranty, and repair of equipment, at a key Customer site, following up all customer’s and Veeco’s protocols related to safety and security
Isolate and resolve complex equipment and systems malfunctions and take corrective action
Provide training, mentoring, and guidance to other Veeco engineers as well as customer personal.
Create and present reports, project plans, and other documentation as required.
Participate and implement new processes, methods, and designs.
Provide analysis of data and drive process and product improvements driven by the business unit
Single point of contact for onsite activities, communications, support in all matters related to the equipment, technical, and field aspects for the targeted site.
BS in Engineering or equivalent degree from a technical school and a minimum of 5 years of experience in an equipment engineering, field service, or customer relations position. An equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Must possess excellent communication skills with the ability to speak with clarity and interface effectively with customer, management, and peers
Displays broad-based customer focus and commitment to resolve problems and make decisions based upon the priority of the problem in relation to business needs
Ability to build excellent customer relationships
Experience with Semiconductor Industry safety requirements and clean room environment.
Requires knowledge of and abilities to excellent systematic troubleshooting skills, judgment, and problem-solving skills to resolve diverse assigned projects with the ability to handle problems independently and implement correction action
Comprehensive knowledge of basic computer language and commands.
Able to create spreadsheets to record and analyze data.
