The support team works to ensure that customers love us and love our products. We are accountable for customers’ success and positiveexperience with Carbon3D. Field Service Engineers work with our Service andEngineering teams to address issues at customer sites. This rolereports to the Technical Services Manager.

Responsibilities:

    • Develop processes and documentation for standard service actions
    • Debug systems and perform remote diagnostics on field failures by reviewing data logged by our product
    • Provide technical support in order to minimize equipment downtime
    • Recognize trends and patterns in field failures and feedback to the development team to drive future designs
    • Work with engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure new issues are fully investigated and those countermeasures are in place
    • Provide support to engineering and manufacturing teams as needed
    • Continued development of the diagnostics knowledge base to be used for future troubleshooting
    • Frequent travel to perform onsite equipment installs, maintenance, upgrades and failure root cause analysis 
    • Availability for occasional off-hours calls and work 

Requirements:

    • BS degree in engineering field (ME,EE,CS) preferred
    • Work experience as development, diagnostics or field support engineer
    • Ability to work and communicate effectively with internal engineering teams 
    • Ability to be self-directed and work independently, with strong organization and documentation skills
    • Ability to managing simultaneous activities and challenges
    • Strong analytical problem-solving skills and hands-on experience with hardware, tools, instruments, or similar protocol analysis 
    • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and electrical schematics
    • Skilled with common workplace and database software (MS Word, Excel, Visio, Access, etc)
