IDEXX is looking for two motivated and passionate field sales specialists for our Water Division. One specialist will cover Eastern US & Eastern Canada and the other specialist will cover Western US & Western Canada.  You will be a leader in the sales organization, responsible for selling Legiolert for the detection of legionella pneumophila to laboratories and for building demand among healthcare facilities and other potential customer groups.  Responsibilities include closing new business, educating facility owners, advising laboratories on growth strategies, training colleagues and customers on product and regulatory topics, representing IDEXX and Legiolert to industry and working with industry partners.

What to expect:

Extensive Travel- up to 75% to meet customers across the U.S. and Canada to sell the value of the IDEXX products. Interact with private and public labs to educate their customers and grow their business, including all demand generation activities. Interact with industry partners to maximize Legiolert mindshare and sales. 

Proven track-record of closing sales and of meeting quarterly and annual sales goals, working within a matrixed environment, prospect calls, presentations and training. Complete sales administration responsibilities, including developing and maintaining account profiles; utilization of sales information system; timely sales information reporting; and timely

and accurate paperwork completion. Work with and support sales team to grow and support business.  Assist with driving regulatory and marketing initiatives.

What you need to succeed?

5+ years of field sales experience with proven track-record of closing sales of consumables and equipment. Experience working with small businesses a plus. Master’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Ability to prioritize activities and work in the field with limited supervision. Ability to work under pressure and meet quarterly goals.  Ability to sell on value of a product versus price. Ability to understand technical products and/or issues. Excel at dealing with diverse group of end-users in public and private laboratories. Strong sales analysis and forecasting experience. Strong communication skills with the ability to influence and negotiate, as well as present with impact. Experience overcoming objections and closing the accounts. Must be self-managed, self-motivated and extremely well organized. Demonstrated aptitude in Teamwork. Must possess a passion for business with the drive to achieve results. Integrity, keeping commitments to colleagues, customers and the company.  Experienced or ability to use Microsoft Office products including Excel, Powerpoint and Word as well as strict compliance with Salesforce.com.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:


• Occasional meetings into a microbiology and/or chemistry laboratory where unpleasant smells may sometime exist and where biological contaminants, bacteria and other live organisms known to cause disease may be kept. Not required to handle any of those contaminants.
• Practicing proper hygiene, such as washing hands thoroughly before entering and after leaving laboratory is recommended.
