As part of the Construction Management team within Ulteig’s Field Services organization, the Field Observer will be responsible for observing, monitoring, and documenting the timely and safe execution of site, structural, and electrical work performed in the field by construction and contracting crews. Observation of both work in progress and completed work will be the responsibility of the Field Observer and requires coordination with engineering & design teams as needed. The Field Observer will also assist in on-site resolution of construction related issues as they are identified and ensure that work is done in accordance with contract documents. This position is heavily field-based.   Our goal is to provide construction management services in the form of project engineering, inspection services includes signing, striping, environmental compliance, public relations and traffic control, as well as adherence to Project Standards. Depending on the project size, this position may report to the Field Supervisor, Project Engineer, Construction Engineer and/or additional assigned supervision.  This position will require extended time on site.    The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • 10+ years field experience in electrical utility substation and/or transmission line construction
  • Previous construction management/observation experiencepreferred
  • Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures within the construction industry
  • Ability to read and understand construction drawings and construction specifications/manuals
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to establish and maintain highly effective working relationships with contractors and others on and off the job site
  • Must Have authorization to work permanently in the U.S.
  • Ability to work up to 100% in the field
  • Work is on an as-needed basis
