The Field Finance Manager will be the leader of the local Metro finance & accounting function and ensure the department’s overriding goals of accuracy and providing timely, relevant information is achieved. The Manager role will be a proactive member of the local leadership team and continually seek to improve performance and efficiencies. He/she will collaborate across several groups of the business to support both short and long-term business objectives. The incumbent will be responsible for providing timely and accurate financial reporting and analysis to key clients including President, regional management, and branch management.

Responsibilities:

  • Support financial close activities and work with controllership team to create journal entries and accruals as required to ensure local financial reporting, and accounting and finance related activities, are compliant with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and internal policies and procedures
  • Identify and explain key variances to plan, prior year, and forecast monthly
  • Support the production of the annual budget and monthly forecasts by collaborating with the Corporate FP&A team and the local leadership team
  • Interact with President daily to provide analysis and financial data as needed
  • Liaise with branch sales office managers to identify opportunities and assist in the comprehension of financials
  • Proactively raise issues to management regarding financial or operational metrics
  • Track key business trends and create meaningful, reusable business analytics
  • Review and approve accounts payable check requests
  • Review and approve sales associate check requests
  • Review and approve incentive plan payments
  • Work closely with the Centralized Commissions Processing Team to help prevent/resolve issues and ensure real estate agents are paid timely and appropriately
  • Collaborate with Branch Managers/RVPs/President to analyze and review agent commission exceptions
  • Provide financial analysis for agent recruiting and onboarding
  • Support the integration of acquisitions
  • Collaborate with the Real Estate group and local business leadership on all lease decisions and capital expenditures and provide supporting financial analyses
  • Analyze and advise on impact of branch office closings, openings, and mergers
  • Collaborate with other local and corporate teams (such as marketing, licensing, legal, etc.) as required
  • Collaborate with Field Service Coordinators and assist with the training of Office Administrators as needed on accounts payable and other procedures which impact accounting and finance
  • Help communicate and implement new policies and procedures in the local metro
  • Support a variety of ad hoc projects as they arise
  • Expected travel: 10% - 15% (primarily to local branch offices)

 Qualifications:

  • BA/BS in Accounting or Finance (MBA preferred)
  • Strong technical and analytical capabilities and financial controls experience
  • 5+ years of similar financial/accounting experience
  • Must have excellent and effective written and verbal communication skills as this role will be working closely with internal teams, clients and other relevant parties
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite with intermediate/advanced Excel skills
  • Ability to multi-task and work independently with limited supervision
  • Possess strong task management, attention to detail and prioritization skills
  • Demonstrated ability to follow through on assigned tasks and take on additional work as needed
  • Real estate industry experience preferred but not required. Willingness to learn and contribute a must
