LinQuest is seeking a Field Engineer to join our team in Colorado Springs, CO. You will support an agile team focused on the engineering, development, integration, and sustainment of evolving ground system architectures for the command and control of Air Force space systems. This candidate should be a self-starter with a strong track record of success in a collaborative and high operations tempo environment. This position will be part of a multi-disciplinary team and require a diverse skill set and ability to work across multiple projects and several geographic regions.
Acts as the company engineering representative with overarching responsibility for implementation and optimization of hardware and/or software products and multi-vendor systems at customer sites including oversight and integration support of existing hardware, software, network configurations and new system initiatives for all sites within area of responsibility
Installation of software maintenance releases or hardware upgrades including the oversight of the installation process and test procedures to diagnose and resolve product performance problems at installation
Identifies areas requiring product improvement and approves/implements upgrades and hardware or software engineering change orders
Provides feedback and customer support regarding product performance problems and suggested solutions which may require product exchanges or more complex problem solving
Prepares and conducts special reports and presentations pertinent to company products and services, field operations or other applications
Plans, prepares and conducts on-the-job training as required in support of the foregoing activities
May oversee a team of field service technicians and train, monitor, and otherwise assist lower level service technicians
This job may include any aspect of field support, and is not limited to system hardware and software, PCs, and networking/wireless networking
Ability to design, research, develop, assemble, integrate, test and sustain all ground equipment that supports systems, subsystems and unit level elements of the spacecraft/vehicle throughout its entire design life cycle which include operations/sustainment and end of life phases.
Ability to work closely with the Aerospace and Systems Engineers to determine the correct requirements and equipment specifications to accommodate the flight spacecraft/vehicle.
Documents and works to resolve all complex problems.
Effective interpersonal and team-building skills, to engage at both the team and management levels to build confidence and collaboration
Clear and concise written and verbal communications skills – the ability to convey concepts in white papers, MS PowerPoint presentations and participate in open forum discussions
Excellent organization skills
Ability to participate and present at meetings for prime and customer leadership
5 - 10 years' systems engineering knowledge and experience, preferably space and/or ground (satellite C2) systems
Bachelors in Engineering or other Technical field
US Citizenship and active DoD Secret Clearance is required to be considered for this position
Experience with operations and sustainment of ground support equipment supporting flight vehicles
Active Top Secret with ability to obtain SCI desired
