Jacobs Federal Operations provides a wide range of services to government and industry in engineering, environmental, operations and maintenance, scientific, engineering, environmental and technical services.  Our clients include USAF, USACE, DOE, USCG, NASA, Dow, TVA, and Denso. We are currently executing many contracts, performing work that is essential to our clients' missions across a broad range of functional areas
Jacobs is looking to support the needs of our Confidential Client with an experienced Electrical Engineer with design and constructionexperience in the area of complex mission critical facility.  The primary focuses of the scope of work are on field design verification, constructability, construction support and commissioning of a new spent nuclear fuel handling facility.  This job often requires working closely with the General Contractors, Design Engineers (both Jacobs and Subcontractor) as well as Craft Labor onsite.

  • Highly motivated with demonstrated design, operations, and constructionexperience in the area of complex and mission critical facilities
  • Provide project design and field engineering services, project implementation, and participation in all phases of a project life cycle
  • Act as the interface between internal customers and project team
  • Involvement in all the site capital projects from green field construction to major modification of existing infrastructures
  • Participation and preparation of all types of documents including: statement of work (SOW) and Project Execution Plans
  • Drawing mark-ups and assisting with budgets, schedules, and the final startup/commissioning reports
  • Review and acceptance of as-built prints and submittals




  • Bachelors of Science is required (Equivalent field experience can substitute for education)
  • Five (5) or more years of experience in the Design-Build environment for fast-track mission critical facilities is required
  • Excellent communication skills, able to work in teams and matrix organization is required
  • Some travel is required
  • Experience in design, operation, and commissioning of electricaldistribution system from HV transformer to branch circuits is preferred
  • A Professional Engineer license or on the path to obtaining a license is preferred
  • Knowledge of large-scale mission critical facility's electricalinfrastructure systems is preferred
  • Knowledgeable in electricaldistribution system design, grounding design, fault analysis, circuit protection and system stability study in order to define the design and interface requirements is preferred
  • Experience in design, operation, and commissioning of switchgear, generators, transformers, controls; security monitoring systems & life safety systems is preferred
  • Prior experience with the Idaho National Laboratory, DOE and/or Naval Reactors Facility is highly desirable
