Ensure property claims are fairly and accurately investigated and evaluated for coverage and damages in accordance with established timelines, customer service standards, and quality standards to negotiate settlements fairly and equitably.
***Travel throughout field areas to inspect risks and assess property damage.
*** Use estimating software such as Xactimate to scope, approve, and adjust estimates of damage, including loss amounts and cost of repair, replacement, or compensation.
*** Interview, telephone, and correspond with insureds, witnesses, and other parties.
*** Examine and interpret insured policies, forms in force, and other records.
*** Determine insurance coverage and extent of company liability.
*** Identify files for potential subrogation.
*** Set appropriate case reserves and revise as needed to cover probable costs.
*** Prepare report of findings and negotiates settlement, including setting mediation or appraisal as needed.
*** Submit assignments to vendors and handle calls from customers, attorneys, public adjusters, vendors, and others.
*** Prepare settlement letters, denial letters, Reservation of Rights, and other letters as needed.
*** Manage pending files in accordance with Claims Best Practices, applicable state statutes, insurance code of ethics, rules, regulations, and guidelines.
*** Write clear and concise diary notes, set field assignments, set and save contacts, and make payments in company Claims System.
