Due to our continued growth, we are currently seeking a highly motivated, results-oriented life science professional to join the BioTek Sales Team as a Field Applications Scientist/Imaging Specialist. The ideal individual will possess a unique combination of scientific education and experience with microplate and imaging instrumentation. He or she will be outgoing, confident, self-motivated and results-oriented with excellent communication/presentation and training ability. This individual will work well independently but will appreciate being part of a dynamic, growing sales team.

The primary function for this position will be providing product demonstrations and seminars, applications training and assay optimization in support of BioTek’s Cytation and Lionheart instrument product lines. Also key to this position will be to develop expert level skills on all software and microplate reader/imaging applications, stay current on new assays, work with customers on new or emerging applications and participate and represent BioTek at vendor shows as well as present seminars and posters.

Superior candidates will possess a MS or PhD in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry or related field; two years of experience in an imaging core or HCS lab with advanced academic or industrial experience using microplate/imaging instrumentation preferably in HCS or HTS lab setting. Requirements include extensive knowledge of fluorescence imaging; widefield and/or confocal microscopy; image analysis experience and familiarity with ImageJ, CellProfiler, etc. Experience with microplate readers and related assays (ELISAs, FP, HTRF, FRET, AlphaScreen) also preferred. He/she will be willing to overnight travel up to 50-60% and ideally reside within Cincinnati, Ohio or Ann Arbor, Michigan area.
