What you will be doingUnder general supervision of the Test Manager or other supervisory/management-level position responsible for implementing and supervising software and hardware testing and for designing, implementing, executing and debugging test processes employing a variety of tools and technologies. Interface with the Development, Business Analyst and Service teams to influence the testability of products, research and implement test methodologies, identify, document and execute test plans and test cases.
1.Collaborates with development and product owner teams during product design phase to assist with requirements review and design test plans and test cases.
2.Designs and executes manual tests to ensure proper operation and performance of software applications
a.Designs, develops and implements test plans and test cases for new and enhanced software releases.
b.Performs all aspects of validation and verification, including functional structural, regression, load and system testing to ensure hardware and/or software meets or exceeds standards and end-user requirements.
c.Ensures all explicit and implicit requirement are met during testing.
d.Executes manual tests according to established plans and test cases
e.Documents test runs and results on every test.
f.Identifies and logs defects and issues found during testing, with detailed explanation, in defect/issue tracking system and ensure escalation to appropriate issue owners.
g.Researches and design test cases to reproduce customer/production issues when needed in order to support the Service and development teams.
h.Uses various tools effectively to assist in project completion, including but not limited to SQL, JIRA, Confluence and test repository and run tools.
3.Ensures continuous improvement of the Software Quality Assurance and Testing process and strategies by actively participating in process review sessions and SQA meetings.
4.Support technical issues rollouts and upgrades as needed
5.Position may require some travel.
6.Perform related duties as required.
What your background should look like (minimum qualifications)Requires four (4) years of college coursework in a business or technical discipline or related work experience; normally requires a minimum of four (4) years related and progressively responsible experience. Working knowledge of cattle feedyard a plus.
1.Familiarity with the Windows operating systems
2.Proficient in common business and office software (word processing spreadsheet and e-mail)
3.Strong organizational and analytical skills
4.Basic knowledge of databases and database query language, such as SQL, recommended.
5.Preferred knowledge of SQA project involvement, application development lifecycle and methodologies
6.Ability to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines
7.Ability to manage multiple tasks at one time
8.Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
