As a TSA Federal Security Director (FSD), you will provide day-to-day direction for federal airport security staff and operations at Portland International Airport (PDX) and its associated regional airports while enhancing the experience of the traveling public.
Your duties will also include:
- Organizing and implementing crisis and incident management response plans and preparing the Federal Security Crisis Management Response Plan.
- Providing oversight and management of passenger, baggage and air cargo security programs while also providing optimal communication to the workforce to ensure they have the information needed to effectively make decisions regarding passenger security.
- Developing and maintaining a collaborative environment within TSA and with TSA stakeholders to effectively manage security operations.
- Supporting security evolution and ensuring the deployment, management and oversight of people, processes and technology to improve security operations, as well as having responsibility for business management functions including human resources, finance and procurement.
Supervisory Managerial Responsibilities include: Strategic planning, communicating the organization's vision and objectives; setting priorities, assigning tasks and responsibilities, monitoring and evaluating performance of organization units, managers and employees. - TSA, an excepted service agency, was established by Public Law 107-71, the Aviation and Transportation Security Act (ATSA), on November 19, 2001. ATSA provides TSA with the authority to modify and develop its own human capital program, provided such modifications are consistent with 49 USC 40122.
- This is an excepted service position. However, there is an interchange agreement with the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) and TSA that enables Career Transportation Security Executive Service (TSES) members who have been approved by the Qualifications Review Board at OPM to qualify for Senior Executive Service (SES) positions without additional competition.
- You will be required to serve a probationary period of one year unless you previously completed the probationary period in a SES/TSES position.
- When you enter on duty, you will be required to complete a Public Financial Disclosure Report, OGE Form 278. You will need to provide this information annually.
