Job Description
The Failure Analysis Engineer will be based in Milpitas, CA and will be responsible for implementing and maintaining cost-effective methods of troubleshooting systems, software, and/or equipment.
Responsible for Implementing Solutions on Critical items to propose to the customers and to keep in good health the failure inventories of the repair or manufacturing process.
Responsible to keep and increase the Technical knowledge and work with education department to develop or make planning to train the technical people. In order to have a good flexibility between projects or technologies.

Here is a glimpse of what you’ll do…
- Use Electrical Testing and diagnostic Equipment to test and troubleshoot complex Printed Circuit Board Assemblies and electromechanical assemblies.
- Responsible for Implementing and maintaining cost-effective methods of troubleshooting systems, software, and/or equipment.
- Responsible for Implementing Solutions on Critical items to propose to the customers and to keep in good health the failure inventories of the repair or manufacturing process.
- Responsible to keep and increase the Technical knowledge and work with education department to develop or make planning to train the technical people. In order to have a good flexibility between projects or technologies.
- Keep in good health the technician efficiency and effectiveness indicators.
- Issue timely test reports summarizing results, deviations and present recommendations for potential improvements.
- Perform deep dive analysis using various types of advance tools and instruments to identifying actual root causes.
Here is some of what you’ll need (required)…
- Minimum B.S. in Electrical and Electronics Engineering
- 6 years of experience in similar roles
- Minimum 3 years’ working knowledge of failure analysis techniques (optical microscopy, SEM, CT, X-Ray, EDX, FTIR, cross sections, dye and pull etc.)..
- PCBA debugging background: Has PCBA manufacturing background knowledge and experiences to relate failure to particular process in manufacturing.
- Strong ability to read and interpret schematic and component data sheets and its applications.
- Knowledge of electrical tools and methods like Oscilloscopes, TDR, curve tracers, Thermal Imaging (FLIR and Lock-in Thermography), …. for fault isolation.
- Great communication skills
- Knowledge of reliability testing to relate failure from reliability test failure.
- Statistical Analysis capability: able to work with data and analyze for trend and present to management.
