Description

The Semiconductor Failure Analysis Engineer shall be responsible for failure analysis of customer returns and internal reliabilityqualification failures.

Responsibilities:

  • Failure analysis of internal failures and customer returns
  • Interface regularly with outside FA labs
  • Work with vendors, subcons, and foundries regarding failure analysis,  corrective/preventive actions, and other reliability activities/issues
  • Drive other projects as needed by management or as business needs change

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • BS in Electrical, Chemical, Material Science, or Mechanical Engineering; MSpreferred
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar reliability and failure analysis role in the semiconductor industry
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience with device testing using micro manipulator probing, tester, and/or bench setup
  • Knowledge of failure analysis techniques and result interpretation of, but not limited to:
    • IV curve trace
    • FIB
    • EMMI
    • X-ray
    • Cross-section
    • SEM
    • CSAM
    • OBIRCH
    • Parallel lapping
  • Knowledge of andexperiencewith industry/JEDEC standards and test methods including, but not limited to:General knowledge of wafer probing and product testing, including interpreting wafer maps and analyzing tester datalogs
    • HTOL
    • Board-level reliability
    • HAST/TCT
    • Latch Up
    • ESD
  • Basic understanding of electronic circuits
  • Experience creating reports using PowerPoint, MS Excel, MS Word
  • Firm grasp on use of statistics and its use in manufacturing, including test limits, SBL, SPC, Cpk, etc.
  • Knowledge of MATLAB is considered a plus
  • Hands-on experience with Agilent/Keysight bench test equipment such as power supplies, DMMs, oscilloscopes, frequency counters, digital signal analyzers (DSA), network analyzers is considered a plus
  • Willing and able to travel up to 50% of the time, locally between vendors and reliability partners
  • Able to lift, push, pull up to 25 pounds if needed
