We are looking for a dynamic Facility Engineer professional to join our team in Phoenix or Flagstaff, Arizona.

In this role, you will be part of a team that manages the building and major building infrastructure for nearly twenty manufacturing and office buildings in this region. In this role, you will work with other Facility Engineers, our Operations and Maintenance (O&M) Team, Facility Project Managers, and manufacturing equipment integration teams to manage and improve plant infrastructures which support our workplaces and manufacturing processes noted for products that are the highest quality in their class.

Responsibilities include:

  • Interacting with the operations teams, design engineers, and other support teams in order to determine their service needs, both current and future
  • Directly supporting and coaching of facility O&M team members with technical understanding of facility systems, troubleshooting of system issues, and driving root cause corrective actions
  • Working with O&M Team to ensure all major facility assets are in our CMMS system, are labeled accordingly in the field, and have appropriate PM schedules
  • Partnering with Enterprise Facility Services (EFS) and Engineering & Construction (E&C) project managers to provide technical review for the construction process; This includes specifying consistent solutions, ensuring operational needs are met, and supporting commissioning
  • Providing technical support for the interpretation and response to facilities related regulatory requirements in partnership with EH&S and the EFS Regulatory and Compliance COE
  • Assisting in the development of common means, methods and standard processes for a diverse facilities network spanning multiple geographical regions
  • Developing and supporting an asset life cycle management program for facility assets that helps drive proactive replacement and upgrades to equipment and informs a 5-10 year capital plan
  • Developing and maintaining system documentation as a tool to understand the operation and capacities of our plant systems using tools such as process and instrumentation diagrams (P&ID), single line diagrams, capacity and load spreadsheets, functional specifications, installation and operational qualification (IQ/OQ), commissioning documentation, etc.
  • Working with the EFS team to maintain accurate building and building system documentation
  • Developing sequence of operations for building operation of facility systems and work to ensure systems are operating as expected
  • Driving operational efficiency improvements for facility systems and appropriate alarming/indication when they are not within the building automation system (BAS)
  • Driving consistency in facility systems across a region with a focus on commonality to drive understanding of these systems within the team, minimize implementation time for new or upgraded systems, and to minimize critical spares
  • Supporting, troubleshooting, and continuously improving facility systems including HVAC systems, air compressors, boilers, piping systems, water systems, chillers, cooling towers, building envelope, etc.
  • Working with external and internal resources on projects to upgrade or implement new facility infrastructure
  • Managing changes to facilities infrastructure within the expectations of a quality system


Required Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or an Engineering Technology degree or equivalent degrees
  • Minimum of 6 years' experience in an environment meeting the responsibilities listed above or equivalent work experience with facility mechanical systems
  • Practical experience developing 2D CAD documentation (models and drawings) using AutoCAD, or equivalent design software
  • Knowledge of related engineering disciplines, such as electrical engineering
  • Good documentation skills, including ability and willingness to adapt to established documentation requirements and expectations while providing input toward or driving positive improvement
  • Willing to support manufacturing plants that operate on a 24/7 schedule
  • Ability to:
    • Research and use mechanical engineering concepts and facilities experience to maintain and improve our plant systems
    • Interpret and follow applicable local and national codes
    • And desire to work hands-on in critical situations in a plant facilities environment
    • Climb vertical ladders and comfortable working at heights and outdoors year round

Desired Job Qualifications:

  • 10+ years experience in facilities management
  • Experience
    • In commissioning of building systems and retro-commissioning of existing systems
    • Working with BAS and CMMS systems
    • With a quality system
  • Direct experience with asset life cycle management and capital planning
  • Willingness to pursue and obtain CPE certification or PE License
