The Role: 

The Gigafactory Facilities Team is looking to hire a Facilities Project Manager to drive and lead projects within the manufacturing and industrial spaces at the plant. The ideal candidate for this position will have several years of experience with commissioning mechanical systems. Candidates for this role will also be expected to track and manage project schedules, budgets, and present cost analysis for various projects. 

Responsibilities:

  • Provide day to day support of operational and maintenance issues on site
  • Assist/lead in troubleshooting of system operational issues
  • Utilize experience to increase awareness in the field and identify improvement areas
  • Provide technical guidance for engineering
  • Find weaknesses in current safety, standard operating procedures SOPs, and operation and make improvements
  • Equipment installation, startup, and commissioning process
  • Tracks project milestones including task duration and resource usage
  • Creates reports showing critical path activities and schedule
  • Coordinates Facilities equipment improvement projects.
  • Perform detailed analysis of problems and all possible solutions
  • Perform project walks with system owners (change orders, bids, etc.)
  • Review P&IDs and provide input for projects
  • Review and provide technical input on  feasibility and technical reports for engineering (prior to submission)
  • Review FMEA and provide technical input in the review process
  • Ensure proper closeout of the entire project

Qualifications:

  • Understands basic project principles such as milestones, resources, duration, critical paths, and project baselines
  • 5+ years mechanical system project / commissioning experience (chillers, boilers, HEX, HVAC, compressors, pumps, motors, and piping) preferred
  • Effectively communicates via verbal/written means
  • Multitasks and adapts to constant change
  • Able to use Microsoft Office software, especially Excel
  • Able to use project management software such as Microsoft Project
  • Basic presentation skills
