Summary: This position is responsible for assuring all procedures are followed in achieving the highest level or productivity in the most cost-efficient manner possible while still maintaining the specification of the customer. Make sure all reporting requirements are met for area of supervision.
•Plans and schedules manpower, materials, product and machines to most effectively and efficiently utilize departmental policies and procedures fairly and equitably to maintain standards established for safety, quality and overall company personnel satisfaction.
•Direct foreman and lead persons in regard to specific tasks as needed with respect to production volume, quality, cost and meeting production schedules.
•Trains and develops foremen to provide management depth and develop teamwork to attain department objectives.
•Always maintain communication with foreman and leads to ensure safe and efficient operation and always promotes safety throughout area where crew is working.
•Report any deficiencies to maintenance department immediately.
•Maintain organization and good housekeeping in the fabrication area; Monitors and confirms the machinery, equipment and facilities are properly maintains and sanitized.
•Ensure complete fill of make sheet to meet customer specifications thus reducing customer claims and returns.
•Direct movement of product from normal operating procedures when necessary to prevent downtime.
•Adjust line speed to correlate with product being produced.
•Trains and provides an environment for employees to achieve their maximum quality and productivity performance in their respective positions.
•Manages employee performance, providing positive and/or corrective feedback.
•Oversees efficiency of monitoring production and discussing daily goals with Foremen.
•Handles any employee grievance, dispute or problem in most efficient manner possible. Any unsolved matter taken up with Human Resources.
•Insure the quality and yields of products on the line and all products leaving the line area meet required specifications.
•Prepare pre-operational paperwork and insure the line is clean and sanitized before the day’s operations begin.
•Other duties as assigned.
•Bachelor’s in Animal Science or 5 or more years of previous Supervisory experience.
•Beef or food industry experience a plus.
•Previous leadership skills with 40 or more employees.
•Effective communication both orally and in writing.
•Capable of independent decision making.
•Must have basic computer knowledge.
•Bilingual preferred (Spanish).
•Ability to manage priorities in a multi-tasking environment effectively.
•Use any and all of leadership development training to aide in decision making.
•Attend morning production meeting to review prior day and clarify any order discrepancies
