Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

The F135 Fan Component Integrated Product Team (CIPT) seeks a knowledgeable, detail-focused manufacturing engineer to work as a F135 Fan Production Engineer. You will be responsible for delivery execution (quality issue resolution), producibility improvements, quality improvements and cost reduction initiatives on all fan hardware. This position requires a proven team player, excellent communication skills, and well-rounded general project and manufacturing engineering skills.

You will:

  • Support CIPT/IPT resources to enable on-time hardware delivery
  • Prepare and present task status and technical content to the CIPT and Cold Section Engineering & Operations Management
  • Perform risk assessments and develop / manage risk mitigation plans
  • Support execution War On Cost initiatives
  • Execute tactical Class 1 & 2 engineering changes for part producibility and cost reduction
  • Evaluate and disposition quality non-conformances (QNs) and supplier requests for information (SRI’s)
  • Support initiatives to maximize efficiency of manufacturing and product delivery (including internal and external manufacturing sources)
  • Analyze information and evaluate results to for proposal of manufacturing improvements and process control
  • Support value stream to ensure products meet financial planning, quality standards, and customer demand rates
  • Support management and control parameters for long-term process yield of fan hardware
  • Collaborate cross-functionally between the Engineering & Operations teams

Qualification:

To be successful in this position, you should have the following experience:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Computer Science
  • 2+ years of engineering experience
  • US Citizenship required due to government program requirements


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Dual Computer Science and Engineering degrees
  • Manufacturing experience in process flow and capacity management
  • Ability to understand production schedules, engineering specifications, process flows, and other information in manufacturing
  • The ability to create positive relationships and craft clear communication
  • Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Analytical Skills
  • Working knowledge of SAP or other ERP systems
  • Process improvement ability and follow through
  • Proficiency with Teamcenter


Education: Bachelors Degree in Engineering or Computer Science
