Job Description
F-15 USAF Trainers, a team in Boeing Global Services’ Training and Professional Services’ Training Systems organization, is currently seeking a Systems Engineering (SE) lead. The successful candidate will be concerned with the real-world operation and maintenance of F-15 aircraft as well as with the sophisticated set of devices needed to control complex training systems and monitor student performance in highly realistic simulators and environments.  Working with subject matter experts, engineering teams, system integrators, and test engineers throughout the entire development, fielding and operation lifecycle, the candidate will lead a SE team to develop, document, and maintain system requirements and design for an entire suite of F-15 aircrew and maintenance training systems and will oversee the review and interpretation of the requirements and design for multiple engineering disciplines. The candidate will also lead the review and documentation of traceability between customer, system and subsystem requirements. In addition the candidate will participate in developing estimates for proposals, reviewing Statements of Work, establishing Earned Value Management (EVM) baselines, and tracking SE team performance to cost and schedule.   Due to the technical complexity of these trainer systems, a degree in the physical sciences, engineering, computer science, or mathematics is required. Practical experience developing or documenting system requirements and design is required, as is practical experience using systems engineering documentation and development tools. Experience leading technical teams is a differentiator. Experience with trainers and training systems is desired. Knowledge of aircraft and aircraft systems is a plus, but not required. Experience with EVM is also highly desired, but a strong motivation to learn is acceptable.   This position requires excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as the ability to work collaboratively to reach decisions that are mutually acceptable to multiple engineering teams.   A current U.S. DoD Secret clearance is mandatory with preference given to those who have completed a background investigation within the last five years. Qualifications
Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor's and 5 or more years' experience, Master's degree with 3 or more years' experience or PhD degree with experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.   Preferred Experience:   Practical experience developing specifications, statements of work, and proposal estimates Demonstrated experience leading multi-disciplined technical teams Demonstrated experience with Earned Value Management Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with multiple engineering teams Past experience working directly with customers to develop requirements and to communicate execution performance Experience with trainers and training systems Knowledge of aircraft and aircraft systems
