Columbus, Ohio area Major Automotive Original Equipment Manufacturer is seeking an Experienced DriverSupport Component Design Engineer.  Responsibilities primarily focus around making 3D designs and 2D layouts of automotive electrical components from initial concept through mass production. Such components may include vision systems, sensors for safety systems, and milli-wave radar. Understanding of class-A surfacing development is required. Will also be responsible for detailed component calculations, investigating ways to reduce component cost and weight, and conducting feasibility for packaging electrical components and brackets throughout the vehicle. Additional responsibilities include managing development projects, negotiating development & purchasing strategies, and coordinating with other departments, suppliers, and manufacturing. Must have a Bachelor?s degree in Mechanical or Electro-Mechanical Engineering and a minimum of five years of experienceworking with styling surfaces and understanding of class-A surfacing development, experience creating design guides for autonomous systems, and experience with radar & camera layout as well as functional requirements. Must have Class-A Surfacing Experience, experience in drafting with CATIA V5, Project management (setting & managing schedules, meeting deadlines, directing other groups to achieve development goals, etc.). Must also have knowledge of a plastic parts molding process, metal bracket design, and fatigue simulation. Willingness to extended travel domestically and or overseas periodically to coordinate with global agencies also required. Will Relocate. NO H1B Sponsorship or OPT. Salary up to $85,000
