Executive Vice President in Washington, DC

The Company

Our client, a highly successful, prominent, award-winning, privately-held, real estate Multi-Family owner, manager, and developer of Class A and Workforce properties across the Mid-Atlantic region. The company has an impressive portfolio which is well-maintained with a high standard/tradition level of excellence. This stable portfolio along with the company being well-capitalized, positions the group for substantial growth and progression. The current portfolio includes ownership of over 25,000 multi-family units, as well as office and hospitality assets. With over 2,000 employees, the company is looking to add a strategic, forward-thinking, hands-on entrepreneurial leader to join the executive management team. This is a highly visible, critical role for the organization which will provide leadership, long-term vision/strategy and drive operational change to the company. The company is going through an exciting and meaningful period of transformation, and seeks a best-in-class leader to position the company for growth and prominence in the marketplace. This position is based at the company headquarters in the DC-Metro area.

Position

This newly created position will report to the CEO/ Owner, who has an excellent reputation and is recognized for being a thoughtful, honest, strategic leader who cares about the long-term success of the organization, its employees, and the communities they serve. The EVP will be vital addition to the company, in that they are looking for a seasoned leader to be an integral part of further creating and executing a best-in-class, long-term business strategy for the organization. This person will partner effectively with all functional areas, while having direct oversight of multi-family operations, development, quality assurance, and over functional areas of the company over time. As a member of the corporate executive team, this person will partner closely with the CEO/Owner and will become a trusted advisor to the future direction of the company. Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in Real Estate, Business, Finance, or related area.
• MBA or MS Real Estate preferred.
• Minimum 20 years of progressive real estate experience. Must have current/prior multi-family experience. Prior meaningful managerial/executive experience required as this person will have indirect responsibility for 1,000+ employees.
• Preferred background/experience in leading operations/property management, asset management, and/or or investments.
• Strong entrepreneurial spirit with the ability to manage multiple priorities. Enjoy working in a fluid environment with changing priorities.
• Experience dealing with investors, ownership, and outside consultants. The person should have the ability to provide strategy, business solutions in a positive, constructive manner while gaining the confidence and support of senior management and other stakeholders.
• Excellent problem solving and decision making skills. Given the exposure and visibility this person will have, the successful candidate should have excellent oral and written communications skills, with a combination of an analytical and conceptual mindset.
• Collaborative communicator who can foster a positive, forward-thinking culture where employees are elevated to the best of their abilities.

Compensation

Excellent compensation package including competitive base salary, annual bonus, long-term incentive/equity program. If needed, full relocation will be provided.
