This position will report to the Director of HR and will be responsible for the recruitment of talent to join the Pearson Online Learning Services (POLS) team. This role will be a blend of senior level niche (full life cycle) and higher volume sourcing recruiting. With the priority on niche senior level role recruiting.The successful person will own the process from requisition approval through offer acceptance stages. This process includes leveraging and/or creating attraction strategies, proactively sourcing talent for positions, managing candidate pipelines, interviewing, interview process management and hiring recommendations through offer acceptance to meet workforce demands. Although you will be working with other Talent Acquisition team members this role is accountable to independently plan, lead and monitor recruitment efforts to ensure successful delivery of top talent for Pearson Online Learning Services.

General Responsibilities

  • Have a passion for the recruiting and sourcing functions with strong experience in candidate development and a focus on delivering an exceptional candidate experience
  • Have demonstrated experience and successes in the niche, senior level full life cycle talent acquisition arena (VP, Director and/or technical specialist type roles);
  • Flexes from full lifecycle recruiting to volume sourcing engagement when needed across all functional groups within Pearson Online Learning Services;
  • Analyze hiring manager requirements, translate those requirements into effective and efficient active candidate generation/attraction plans;
  • Own the process from requisition approval to offer acceptance (posting/pipeline management, interviewing, selection, offer acceptance processes);
  • Maintains seamless process in selection, including candidate screening, interview and offer;
  • Conduct appropriate research of the industry and competitors for determination of qualified candidates and then can effectively translate that work into active sourcing solutions;
  • Identify candidates through job board databases, online tools, advertisements, social media and existing candidate inventory to define appropriate candidates based upon needs of the hiring managers;
  • Lead and coordinate interview processes that maximize efficiencies, establishes accountabilities, and enables successful hiring;
  • Will lead salary negotiation with hiring managers and/or candidates to maximize probability of meeting the needs of the candidate and hiring managers;
  • Possess excellent communication and client management skills while displaying the highest degree of integrity and implementing the industry's best practices (sourcing, recruiting, candidate assessment)
  • Help coach hiring managers on the intricacies of interviewing to gain specific insights and conduct debrief with candidates and hiring managers;
  • Ensures compliance within the hiring practices to meet all state and federal employment regulations and laws;
  • Communicates with vendors and third-party administrators, where appropriate;
  • Liaise with HR Business Partners and other Talent Acquisition team members to ensure effective functional support across sites;
  • Effectively support hiring managers at remote locations;


General Qualifications

  • 4-year degree from an accredited institution in Human Resources, Business or equivalent discipline OR appropriate combination of experience and education
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible recruitment with emphasis on niche and higher organizational level hiring (full lifecycle recruiting to volume sourcing) or talent management experience within a mid-sized or large organization
  • Previous experience and success in executive search is strongly desired
  • Ability to manage senior level job offer negotiations.Be the primary negotiator and closer with selected candidates
  • Select and manage external search firm vendors as needed, in partnership with HR Business Partner, for highly complex and confidential assignments; including, fee negotiation and managing the firm throughout the entire recruiting process.
  • When volume recruiting, can manage high volume, high variety workloads in deadline driven environment while balancing quantity of hire with quality of hire
  • Highly skilled with recruiting and general software tools; Taleo, LinkedIn and MS Office/Google
  • Well-developed internal consulting skills, exercising strong listening and mediation skills to interpret HR strategies and align department strategies and tactics with the needs of Hiring Managers
  • Above average ability to leverage technology (social media and internet) as a sourcing tool
  • Strong process improvement mindset that ensures continuous improvement of processes
  • Ability to build strong relationships with team members and work in a collaborative and consultative manner
  • Critical thinking, good judgment and the ability to recognize communication needs and opportunities
