Description Reporting to the Head of Commercial Banking, the Executive Director, Underwriting & Portfolio Management provides executive level oversight and management on all of the active portfolio accounts within the Commercial Bank, including Business Banking, Middle Market, Mid Corporate, Asset Based Lending & Structured Finance and Leveraged Finance. Provides effective and strategic monitoring and reporting internally, as well as developing a strong customer relationship that will position Santander for subsequent follow-on financing opportunities.
15 + years of related experience, bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
Expected to have an expert level of credit and documentation experience
Must be skilled in proposing and negotiating and approving credit and covenant structures
Must demonstrate practical and conceptual knowledge of credit and risk analysis
Demonstrated knowledge in financial modeling and able to structure credit in modeling environment
Able to assist RMs on how to structure the credit relationship
Exhibits competency at independently reaching conclusions and forms clear view of credit structure and business risk to Bank
Thorough understanding of industry nuances applicable to the credits contained within group’s portfolio
Thorough knowledge of loan and related legal documents
Strong communication skills; and ability to influences others by persuasively presenting thoughts and ideas to gain commitment and agreement for proposed ideas and solutions
Word, Excel, Power Point, spread sheet modeling, and presentation development and delivery skills
Advanced knowledge of different financial modeling systems and ability to coach others on use of internal systems that may include CRM Dashboard, Originations and Moody's Risk Analyst.
