  • It is the primary responsibility of the Executive Director of Financial Projects to plan, organize, direct, coordinate, and evaluate the activities that take place within the Finance Shared Services Center (FSSC), that support the FSSC’s core values as well as overall administration of the FSSC tasks. The Executive Director will report to the Senior Vice President, and collaborate closely with all areas of the FSSC and finance organization. Additionally, the Executive Director will facilitate initiatives to measure and communicate results to our customers, as well as manage the customer relationship lifecycle from initial service level agreements to regular communication with our customers to monitoring customer satisfaction. The Executive Director will ensure that the organization has the necessary managerial, logistical and administrative support, with the required financial, human and material resources, to implement its principal activities and programs at all levels. Furthermore, the Executive Director will aid in establishing sound policies, procedures, practices, systems and standards that are consistent with shared services best practices in the areas of governance and communication. All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and MGM Resortspolicies, practices and procedures.

    Oversee and direct Financial Transformation project processes related to, but not limited to the following functions.

    Oversight and Planning

    • Formal identification of project goals, objectives, expected outcomes, key stakeholders and project sponsors o
    • Comprehensive ownership of accuracy of business unit information
    • Ownership of tracking and reporting of work plan activities, schedule and project status
    • Ownership of performance measurement and innovation
    • Ensure project requirements are met  

    Transformation Processes and Services

    • Financial processes including transactional system interface management oOversight of Finance Shared Services Center (FSSC) processes including those related to Financial Services, Shared Services Payroll, AP Shared Services, General Accounting, and Non-Gaming Audit and Accounting
    • Oversee timely completion of projects and tasks
    • Ensure adequate support is provided to business units including management of business unit relationships
    • Oversees all project activity is timely and accurately recorded
    • Have a history of successful use of project management methodologies, best practices and processes
    • Oversees new processes, reports, and systems adhere to MGM MIRAGE accounting policies and remain standard across all business units
    • Assists in the development and maintenanceof service level agreements with internal customers
    • Develops and maintains effective communication and excellent relationship with internal customers(included but not limited to business units, operations, property CFOs) including ensuring their requirements are identified and consistentlymet
    • Development and review of departmental budget, and tracking actual vs. budgeted costs
    • Manages and directprojectsfor systemsimplementationsand/or processes related developments which areinitiated externally or by the FSSCto ensure that requirements are met and/or work efficiently enhanced
    • Consults with business and other resources to gain an understanding of industry trends and new initiatives.Make recommendations to Senior Management regarding best-practices including adoption of new trends and initiatives
    • Promotesan effective relationship between the FSSC, the business unit, other corporate departments and ensureseffective operational processes
    • Enhancesinternal customer service through the implementation of reporting and processing improvements as well as promotion of service oriented approach within all functional responsibilities
    • Leads, drives, communicatesandisaccountable for shared service strategies that deliver high quality, cost effective and value support services across the Corporation
    • Drivesand oversees continuous measurement, development and improvement of customer service quality and efficiency in with and on behalf ofsenior management across the FSSC
    • Provide concise project related reporting to appropriate audiences
    • Overseesand manages the establishment of productive relationships with the business units, understanding the needs of all stakeholders to identify potential improvements in support service processes and approval to proposals, including investment,to achieve them
    • Oversees the management and direction of the allocation of resources, performance and any competing requirements to meet internalcustomer expectations, SLA performance thereby enabling achievement of business case benefits realization
    • Determine appropriate strategies and business plans to meet the performance requirementsOther duties as assigned

    Minimum Requirements:


    • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Management
    • 10+ years specific accounting experience and 12+yearsof supervisory experience or equivalent
    • Three to six years of progressive experiencein Project Management lifecycle activities with emphasis in project planning, risk assessment, resource management estimating and monitoring costs, quality management and project contract management
    • Experience in working with all levels of management, including executives and consulting with key business stakeholders


    • MBA
    • Certified Public Accountant or equivalent
    • Previous experience working in a similar resort setting.
