Position Summary: 

The incumbent is responsible for the visionary and strategic leadership in the planning, operation and management of UC Irvine Health’s clinical support services (Radiology, Clinical Lab, Rehabilitation, Respiratory, Interventional programs, Imaging, etc.).  Responsible for oversight and implementation of the technical program planning and development, financial management (operating budgets, revenue and expense management, capital equipment, etc.) strategic planning, process improvement, customer service, patient satisfaction and policies and procedures development and implementation. Ensures programs and services are in compliant with UC administrative and business policies, as well as federal, state and local agency regulations.

 

Required Qualifications:

Ability to develop and implement programs and improve organizational performance

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the HealthSystem

Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload

Ability to successfully cross departmental lines of management to organize, guide and direct the development, delivery and marketing of assigned programs and services

Ability to successfully represent the UC Irvine Enterprise to the external community

Bachelor’s degree in Health Care Administration, Business Management, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience

Evidence of sound critical thinking skills and the ability to think creatively and strategically

Excellent negotiation skills and proven ability to influence others internal and external to the organization

Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English

Marketing knowledge and skills to successfully promote assigned programs and services

Minimum 10 years’ experience of progressive management responsibility

Minimum 5 years’ experience in an executive leadership role (Director or higher) in a healthcare setting

Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job

Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties

Strong management experience in healthcare administration with emphasis on management of ancillary  services to include Radiology and/or Laboratory services and regulatory compliance in assigned areas

Strong planning, financial and analytical skills to provide effective leadership for assigned areas

 

Preferred Qualifications:

Clinical License (e.g. CLS, ARRT, RT, Pharm.D, etc.)

Experience in LeanSix Sigma as an improvement methodology

Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and forms

Leadership experience in an academic medical center environment

MBA or Masters in Healthcare Management or related field
