  • Deepening trusting partnerships with key stakeholders (including staff, AmeriCorps members, external partners) through meaningful relationships and authenticity
  • Developing a sustainable public and private revenue strategy that strengthens relationships with the school district, AmeriCorps, state government, corporate partners, individuals, and other key donors

  • Strong cultural competency, emotional intelligence, and experience and comfort working with underserved communities
  • Proven skills in influencing and motivating stakeholders; track record in fundraising (particularly major gifts) and/or sales and a “closer” a strong plus
  • High level of organizational and political sophistication, especially as it relates to connecting programs to funding, creatively generating other resources, and building collaborative and strategic partnerships
  • Exudes grace and confidence under pressure
  • Strong communication, listening, and public speaking skills needed to powerfully represent City Year’s mission and vision
  • Ability to attend evening and weekend events; ability to travel to in-person meetings in various cities quarterly
  • Significant local non-profit, volunteer, or multi-sector experience
  • An established cross-sector, local network a plus
  • Knowledge of Miami and Miami educational landscape strongly preferred
  • Content knowledge of K-12 education, youth development, and/or community or national service strongly preferred
  • 8-10+ years of professional experience in progressively senior positions, with a proven record of budget management and exceeding goals
  • Bachelor’s degree; advanced degree preferred, in a related field a plus
