The Executive Director, Clinical Education-Professional Practice & Development provides strategic vision, leadership, development, implementation and continual enhancement of education programs and systems across MultiCare Health System (MHS). The primary emphasis is on clinical education programs designed to foster clinical excellence and drive improved patient outcomes, as well as leading the ongoing professional development of our nursing enterprise – designing a program that supports our journey to excellence. Accountabilities include collaborating with leadership throughout MHS to identify, prioritize, integrate, and execute education initiatives to support performance excellence; directing policy development/implementation; administering management functions, demonstrating financial acumen, and creating a high-performance team environment.
Experience leading and operating a Nursing Educational Department.
5 years experience in a managerial or supervisory capacity
8 years professional level experience
Senior-level performance improvement experience, preferably within a large healthcare system.
Proven track record working in complex, multi-site organizations
Master’s degree in nursing required.
Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from an accredited institution preferred. Significant graduate-level coursework and/or advanced degree in education preferred.
Current License to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Washington. Certificate in Nursing Professional Development by the American Nurses Credentialing Center and AACN required. Additional certification in Nursing Administration preferred.
