Job Description

The EVP, Brand and Marketing is responsible for shaping QTS’ overall brand identity by developing and executing strategies that drive growth, elevate brand awareness, and leverage forward-thinking. This is a high-level leadership role that requires a deep understanding for strategically creating a marketing vision for a $50B dollar company. They will also lead our in-house marketing teams, promoting a culture of collaboration and consistency.

Responsibilities, other duties as assigned:

  • Oversee the development and maintenance of the company’s brand identity, ensuring consistency and relevance with seamless marketing strategies that align with QTS’ goals and objectives.
  • Lead and manage our high-performing marketing operations, creative solutions, and innovation teams while fostering a collaborative and optimistic culture.
  • Create an elevated and upscaled narrative that articulates QTS’ vision for the future.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive culture messaging strategy that effectively communicates QTS’ culture and core values.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify key messages and themes that reflect our culture and resonate with our target audience.
  • Align culture messaging efforts with overall brand strategy and ensure consistent messaging across all touchpoints.
  • Monitor key market trends, competitor activities, and industry publications to develop plans of effective engagement and stay ahead of the curve.
  • Develop and execute targeted demand generation campaigns to drive customer acquisition and leads.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to create cutting-edge quality marketing content that enhances brand visibility, engagement, and user experience.
  • Cultivate and maintain a robust professional network within the industry, including key stakeholders, influencers, and thought leaders.
  • Ensure QTS’ brand guidelines are followed across all marketing touchpoints and avenues.
  • Leverage marketing technologies, key performance indicators (KPI), and data-driven insights to optimize marketing initiatives and tactics.
  • Forecast, implement, and review the department’s operating budget to ensure a ROI on marketing investments and allocate resources effectively.
  • Participates in industry events, conferences, and trade shows to stay connected with trends and best practices.
  • Estimated travel of 25% annually to QTS locations, conferences, events etc.


Basic Qualifications:

  • Fifteen or more years of experience in marketing or brand strategy.
  • Five or more year of experience building and leading high performing teams
  • Proven experience in culture messaging, storytelling, employer branding, and related areas
  • Proven track record of success in leading marketing initiatives for a growing organization.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or a related field
  • MBA or similarly advanced degree
  • Experience with a customer relationship management platform (Salesforce)
  • Experience with a marketing automation platform (Pardot)
  • Experience with a content management system (Sitecore)
  • Experience with social media management tools
  • Experience working with business intelligence or analytics reporting tools
  • Experience with design and creation tools
  • Experience working in the technology or data center industry


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively articulate marketing strategies to QTS Executive Leadership, Blackstone, and the Board of Directors.
  • Strong business acumen and a deep understanding of market dynamics and trends.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented, and evolving business environment.
  • Provide clear direction, guidance, and mentorship to team members, promoting professional growth and development.
  • An ambitious self-starter with savvy entrepreneurial decision-making abilities.
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing, including SEO, SEM, social media, content marketing, and email marketing.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with competing priorities simultaneously.
  • Agile and versatile; comfortable with new challenges and easily adapts to change.
  • Leverage networking opportunities, peer relationships, and industry knowledge to identify potential partnerships, collaborations, and business development opportunities.
  • Strong listening, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strategic thinker with a data-driven mindset, able to interpret market research and analytics to drive effective judgement.
  • An optimistic leader who can support and serve those around them.
