The Event and Partnerships Manager will be responsible for the sales and flawless execution of private events within Mercado Little Spain. Additionally, he or she will serve as on-site contact for partner and sponsor activations, ThinkFoodGroup team.
This is a salaried position with an event sales commission structure. It reports to the Mercado Little Spain Director of Operations, along with TFG Sr Director of Event & Partnership Marketing.

Overall Responsibilities
• Book, create and host private dinners and events (>12 people) within the market and its restaurants
• Onsite POC for MLS partners and sponsors in execution of events, promotions and sponsor visibility
• Execute and report on monthly goals set in partnership with MLS Director of Operations and Restaurant GMs

Event Sales & Outreach
• Develop infrastructure to maximize sales opportunities, develop sustainable relationships within target groups and ultimately generate business to meet or exceed monthly sales goals
• Conduct outreach and networking in NYC and beyond to draw events business into the market
• Collect and leverage market/industry information about target audiences for sales and events efforts, to determine best strategies and tactics
• Create and continuously manage a detailed database of key sales and events targets to develop and nurture relationships, foster loyalty/repeat business and ultimately create a robust event sales pipeline
• Setup and maintenance of event management tool and training of relevant managers to ensure understanding of event “systems”
• Work with MLS Sr. Marketing & Community Manager and TFG marketing department to develop brand-appropriate sales and events materials
• Research and monitor events in the area that will provide business compression and group opportunity

Event Management
• Clearly define guest expectations, anticipate needs and ask questions to ensure a positive experience
• Negotiate events to ensure maximum event profitability while balancing guest expectation and value perception
• Create detailed Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) for each large group booking, exercising a thorough understanding of menus and products
• Follow up with clients to ensure satisfaction and establish potential areas for improvement
• Assess results regularly and creatively brainstorm new cost-effective programs to generate awareness and trial among target audience segments
• Lead development of event pricing structure for large parties and events, as well as manage and update all sales and events menus on a regular basis
• Work with MLS management to create offsite catering plan once team is ready, and be responsible for selling, contracting and execution plans

Partnerships
• Act as onsite POC for all MLS partners and sponsors
• Oversee activation onsite for all partners and sponsors, including branding, programming integration and hosted events
• Collect content, including metrics and photos, for partner events and activations
• Help ensure that partners and sponsors get maximum value for their involvement in MLS
• Work with TFG team to identify new partners, either for one-time events or ongoing relationships

Requirements:
• Minimum 3-4 years experience in event management and/or sales. Marketing and branding experience a plus
