Primary responsibilities include:

  • Research, analyze and compile data
  • Prepare and review well written environmental documentation and other related materials
  • Support the preparation of land use permit applications and technical reports to support compliance with the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA).
  • Conduct analysis and research on a variety of resource topics including Aesthetics, Public Services, Utilities, Recreation, and
  • Successfully coordinate regulatory and permitting issues with internal and state and federal resource agency staff
  • Maintain an understanding of emerging regulations and industry requirements for the oil and gas and utility sectors.
  • Help develop and implement strategies to minimize schedule disruptions & cost impacts to critical capital improvement projects

  • Ability to work both individually and as part of a collaborative team contributing to the preparation of environmental documentation for a diverse range of projects
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to inform and direct technical discipline staff
  • Ability to effectively communicate and coordinate with internal and external clients
  • Experience and comfort handling public involvement, agency coordination, and interfacing with stakeholders and local planning staff
  • Knowledge of state and federal permit requirements
  • Experience preparing CEQA documents (Initial Studies, Environmental Impact Reports) or sections of CEQA documents (Aesthetics, Public Services, Utilities, etc).
  • Team oriented, with he ability top work independently when given clear goals and objectives, ability to take direction
  • Proficient in general use of computers and business software (Microsoft Word/Excel)


Qualifications Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental science, planning, biology, ecology, or related field.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in environmental planning and permitting for utility, water, or oil and gas or other commercial markets.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with ArcGIS, Survey 123, ArcGIS Online, and other GIS programs and apps.
