Environmental Manager II at J. R. Simplot Company in Lathrop, CA

This role plans and manages the environmental science programs at our chemical processing plant in Lathrop, CA. Accountable for implementing the organization’s environmental compliance strategies. Implements the policies, procedures, and systems to maintain and enhance environmental performance of the organization. The ideal candidate will be an active, on-the-floor, resource concerning environmental health, and will also have strong interpersonal, communication, teamwork, time management, and organizational skills, will be highly motivated, self-directed and accountable, and will have the ability to work effectively with all levels of staff across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Largely responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining environmental compliance measures required under Federal, State, and local regulations. Assists management in interpreting and applying technical regulatory requirements on production operations
• Interacts with regulatory and/or government agencies to ensure environmental compliance at the plant and/or project level
• Responsible for monitoring cost control measures for environmental compliance. Seeks guidance on developing preliminary budgets
• Must keep fully informed of new developments in regulatory changes in environmental requirements
• Responsible for assuring effective utilization of personnel and responding promptly to the needs of plant operations
• Support Simplot's mission of stewardship for our natural resources
• Leads compliance projects at operating site
• Working knowledge of Risk Management Plan (RMP)

Typical Education

• Bachelor's Degree (B.A. or B.S.) from 4 year college or university

Relevant Experience

• 5+ years related experience and/or training
• Title V experience is required
