Environmental, Health, & Safety Manager

The EHS Manager, under the direction of the Plant Manager, is responsible for coordinating all environmental, health, and safety activities at the site.

This position is responsible for promoting the company EHS policies, and for ensuring compliance with all pertinent regulations that apply to the site. Strict adherence to Corporate and local policies, rules, and regulations in these areas is required.


Responsibilities

•       Researches, translates, communicates, and implements governmental and company regulations/standards in matters related to environment, health, and safety issues.

•       Manage and sustain the site Environmental Management System (EMS) in accordance with the ISO 14001 standard.

•       Create, implement, train and audit environmental, health, and safety policies, procedures, and practices for the site.

•       Coordinate communications between the site and regulatory agencies as related to EHS matters.

•       Coordinate and conduct training for facility personnel as it concerns EHS matters.

•       Manager local EHS department activities to ensure that objectives are met.

•       Cultivate relationships with regulatory agencies to facilitate open communication on matter of importance to the site.

•       Perform other related duties as may be reasonably assigned in the course of business.

•       Exhibits model behavior as related to EHS policies and practices.

•       Participates and contributes to individual or group collaborative assignments acorss sites and other business units.

•       Lead, coach, and manage other EHS team members.


Requirements

•       Minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment with a proven track record of success in reducing occupational injuries and maintaining compliance with pertinent regulations.

•       Strong environmental background and experience with local, state, and federal regulations and reporting.

•       Prior supervisory experience required.

•       Must have demonstrated abilities as an effective coach.

•       Experience with Lean Manufacturing.
