Position Summary & Duties:

The Environmental Engineer is a direct-hire position of one of our specialty chemical clients in the Lake Charles, LA area.

Environmental Engineer Job Description:

•Provide regulatory knowledge and scientific expertise to allow the company secure environmental regulatory approvals.

•The Environmental Engineer will develop and/or review the permits application plan.

•Liaise with the environmental consultant on Title V application including assistance for BACT, CEMS, Fugitive, emission calculations, and Benzene Neshap regulations.

•Environmental Engineer will represent the company on permit applications.

•Assist in the preparation of permit applications, including gathering supporting documentation, conducting environmental assessments, and coordinating comment response to agencies.

•Environmental Engineer will perform and summarize searches related to threatened and endangered species, natural heritage, and section 106 cultural resources.

•Create technical documents and provide review of technical documents that support regulatory submissions.

•Environmental Engineer will communicate and collaborate with other environmental and regulatory specialists to ensure consistency in project execution.

•Assist the HSE Manager in their duties.

 
Qualifications:

Environmental Engineer Job Requirements:

•Ability to develop and implement site requirements to conform to ISO 14001 compliance.

•Environmental Engineer should possess the ability to generate environmental scope of work for environmental sub-contractors.

•Experience in generating water permit renewal/modification application

•10 years plant experience as an environmental engineer or specialist.

•Current Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) Certification
