Is responsible for managing the technical and financial aspects of staff assigned projects as well as completing individual projects. The Environmental Department Manger coordinates drilling, sample/data collection, subcontractor tasks, evaluates data and compiles written reports for submittal to clients and regulatory agencies. The person needs to be reliable (responsibilities, tardiness, etc.) and have a good work ethic. They need to be able to cooperate with co-workers and clients and they also should be able to listen, understand and follow instructions. They must show respect for company property.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
Manages environmental projects, consults with client regarding environmental issues, coordinates internally and with client, prepares proposals and Request for Proposals as needed, and writes reports.
May review and seal reports prepared by staff members (P.G. License Required).
Analyzes reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, tests, and aerial photographs on soil composition, terrain, hydrological characteristics, and other topographical and geologic data to plan and design project.
Performs asbestos, lead paint assessments, indoor air quality assessments, environmental site assessments, and other environmental tasks; make site visits as needed.
Coordinates and cooperates with lab and field departments.
Prepares cost estimates, proposals and invoices.
Meets project budgets and schedules.
Follows safety procedures.
Other duties may be assigned.
Certified Asbestos Inspector
Certified Indoor Environmental Consultant
Certified Lead-based Paint Assessor
Valid Drivers License
Professional Geologist (P.G.) license preferred.
Education and/or Experience Requirements
Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in a field related to the natural sciences (such as Geology or Biology) from four-year college or university; Five years environmental industry experiencerequired. Professional Geologist (P.G.) preferred.
