Cirrus Logic is seeking an entry level engineer or a recent graduate to help us develop Embedded Linux Device Drivers for the world’s most advanced consumer electronics devices. In this position, you will be responsible for project leadership and hands-on development of Linux device drivers for Cirrus Logic devices and supporting the integration of those devices into customer platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Create Linux device drivers for new Cirrus devices
  • Upstream Linux device drivers
  • Bring-up first silicon on Linux platforms
  • Assist customers debug new devices

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelors/Masters in CS/EE 
  • Have a strong desire and understanding of the software and hardware boundary
  • Embedded systems experience and interest
  • C and assembly language development 
  • Hardware debug experience with DVMs, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, JTAG debuggers
  • Adequate knowledge of reading schematics and data sheets for components
  • Operating systems fundamental knowledge

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

  • Linux device driver development and architecture knowledge
  • Android, Java development experience
  • Multi-processor development
  • Familiarity with standard hardware protocols (usb, uart, spi, i2c, i2s, SoundWire, SlimBus etc.)
  • Familiarity with Bash, Python, Perl and otherscriptinglanguages
  • Real-time operating system experience
  • Understanding of boot loaders
  • Experience with software configuration management tools, defect tracking tools, and peer code review
  • Experienced creating and reviewing design specification and code architecture documents.
