Tektronix is looking for a customer focused Technical Support
Engineer to join our stellar Field Sales organization as a
Field Applications Engineer. Initially, you will be working in
our Beaverton Technical Support Center (TSC) to gain/hone
your skills with our products (up to one year), at which time
the position will transition to one of our Field Application
Engineer positions in North America.
This position is well suited for an entry level engineer
that is looking to begin his or her technical career in a
fast paced high technology company. Our customers are
engineers within the largest and most advanced technology
companies. As a member of the TSC, you will gain firsthand
experience in providing top-level technical and application
support for Tektronix products. Each day in the TSC you will
partner 1:1 with these customers to solve the broad variety
of complex engineering challenges encountered as they
invent, develop, deploy or maintain their next-generation
products. You will also have the opportunity to directly
interface with our Field Application Engineers, which you will
join after your initial immersion in the TSC.
At the completion of your immersion in the TSC you will
have the product and application knowledge to assure your
success as a Field Application Engineer. As part of our
North America sales team, you will be working with our sales
team in driving customer preference for our products and
provide pre-and-post-sale engineering support. Enabling

(and later Field Applications Engineer) at Tektronix you will

This position supports our products and applications via
direct interaction with our customers and sales team. Initially
you will begin within a call-center-like, highly team-centric
work environment and then transfer to a field Application
Engineering position after about a year working in the
Technical Support Center.
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering field (preferably
BSEE), or in the process of obtaining a bachelor's degree
in engineering field (preferably BSEE).
- Experience/understanding in using a Oscilloscope, Signal
Generator or Spectrum Analyzer.
- Experience/knowledge in LabView, Visual Basic, C++, C#
and/or Microsoft .NET.
- Customer service experience.
- Willing and able to relocate to a location in North America
- MBA, or in the process of obtaining an MBA.
- Experience working with networked instruments (Domain
Name Servers, TCP-IP and related protocols, etc.).
- Engineering experience in basic test and measurement
equipment (probing, capacitance and loading effects on
- Customer communication skills and be detail-oriented
in order to track multiple, complex customer interactions
quickly and accurately.
