Position Summary: The Enterprise System Architect is responsible for the overall architecture of the corporate server, network and application infrastructure Develops and leads infrastructure projects. Responsible for identifying, evaluating and proposing enhancements to the infrastructure that provide value to the business. Provides expertise in server infrastructure and application management, implementation, maintenance and support. Provides and architects solutions for potential clients in the pre and post -sales cycle as required This position complements and provides support to the network infrastructure team.
Key Accountabilities:

1. Design and implement long-term strategic goals and short-term tactical plans for managing and maintaining corporate systems and software.

2. Knowledge of Service Oriented Architectures, API design, and 24/7 Operations.

3. Ensure that proposed and existing systems architectures are aligned with organizational goals and objectives.

4. Provide architectural expertise, direction, and assistance to Systems Analysts, other System Architects and software development teams.

5. Develop, document, and communicate plans for investing in systems architecture, including analysis of cost reduction opportunities.

6. Conduct research on emerging technologies in support of systems development efforts, and recommend technologies that will increase cost effectiveness and systems flexibility.

7. Where applicable, design, develop, and oversee implementation of end-to-end integrated systems.

8. Document the company’s existing systems architecture and technology portfolio; make recommendations for improvements and/or alternatives.

9. Review new and existing systems design projects and procurement or outsourcing plans for compliance with standards and architectural plans.

10. Confer with end-users, clients, or senior management to define business requirements for complex systems and infrastructure development.

11. Model business and systems processes based on findings through use case scenarios, workflow diagrams, and data models.

12. Develop and execute test plans to check infrastructure and systems technical performance. Report on findings and make recommendations for improvement.

13. Architects solutions as required during the pre and post sales cycle for potential new clients.

14. Develop and manage a systems capacity plan.

15. Develop, document, communicate, and enforce a policy for standardizing systems and software as necessary.

16. Provide guidance to junior members of the team.

Requirements Qualifications: 12 + years of field experience as a System Architect or similar responsibilities with proven results and MS Certified Systems Administrator, or equivalent experience, required; Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA), preferred. Management of Cisco Unified Computing System (UCS) and VMware technologies required. Knowledge in Storage Area Network (SAN) technology preferred. Proficient in Microsoft Windows 200x server environments. Must be proficient in Microsoft Windows 200x server environments, as well as server hardware, storage, infrastructure, security, policies, Domain Name System (DNS), Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP), Transmission Control Protocol/ Internet Protocol (TCP/IP), Hyper Text Markup Language (HTML), File Protocol Transfer (FTP), Packet Internet Groper (Ping), Name Server Lookup (NSLookup) and other services and utilities. Working knowledge of Microsoft IIS and Microsoft Structured Query Language (SQL). Must demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. Experience managing Voice Over Internet Protocol (VoIP) or Private Branch Exchange (PBX) systems, IBM Advanced Interactive eXecutive (AIX) server and healthcare billing systems preferred. Wide Area Network (WAN)/Cisco IOS experience and network security a plus. Must possess thorough understanding of server infrastructure concepts, architecture, and administration, as well as knowledge of and expertise in the use and management of a variety of computer network, operating system (OS), hardware and software systems.
