Primary Responsibilities:

  • Development and oversight of operational and strategic plans as it relates to key RCM initiatives
  • Support communication across the business to keep key internal and external stakeholders aware of status on open initiatives
  • Contributes to the development and implementation of strategic direction for Shared Services.
  • Support the management and transition of new client business into operations
  • Collaborate with the VP of Shared Services to communicate and report results for Blue Chip and other key initiatives
  • Monitors performance and communicates with Information Technology management to ensure optimal use of installed technology, planned system conversions and identify future needs
  • Solution builds with key leaders and stakeholders as needed to maintain progress and successful execution of initiatives
  • Collaborates with the client as appropriate to improve operational performance for RCM services
  • Provides leadership and input into the architecture, detail design and development of the Optum360 Operating Model
  • Support the deployment of company operating model and philosophy
  • Oversees and monitors progress against specific business goals and cost containment efforts
  • Performs duties and job responsibilities in a manner that supports the mission, vision and values of Optum360
  • Ensures that financial analyses, financial forecasts and routine reports are completed accurately and within established schedules for shared services operational areas
  • Participates in the development of short and long term objectives that will assure the continued growth of Optum360 and the provision of E2E revenue cycle services
  • Performs staff reviews and prepares performance documents for direct reports
  • Promotes employee engagement and satisfaction
  • Practices and adheres to the Mission and Values of Optum360
  • Other duties as assigned
  • May require up to 30% travel as needed for key client or internal meetings


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree or seven years experience managing large scale hospital based revenue cycle operations teams
  • 7+ years of revenue cycle experience in an acute healthcare setting
  • Broad experience with RCM operations, people leadership, and transition/change management
  • Experience leading direct reports
  • Healthcare RCM knowledge
  • Proficient in packaging PowerPoint presentations summarizing outcomes
  • PC skills - skilled in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, and others as required
  • Ability to travel 30% of the time
  • Experience communicating long term goals and leading leadership team in development and implementation of performance improvement initiatives
  • Experience executing large scale transition while monitoring ongoing changes for performance impact
  • Project management experience - administer using tools and processes to identify and communicate project goals, schedules, responsibilities, progress and performance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in healthcare billing and collection or similar service environments
  • Consulting experience in areas of business transformation, shared services, change management and project management
  • Experience with organizational start-ups, mergers, acquisitions, operational consolidation and shared services
  • Strong and engaging leadership qualities
  • Ability to earn respect and trust of internal stakeholders as well as external clients
