The Enterprise Architect role at Aviva Canada is responsible for ensuring that business strategy is supported by an appropriate technology architecture to achieve its goals. This is an exciting and evolving role at Aviva Canada as we are launching multiple transformation projects and programs. We have several openings in a newly expanded team to shape the vision, strategy, and transformation roadmap for Aviva particularly in the areas of core insurance platforms and digital experiences.
The success of this role relies on a balanced mix of technical, business, and interpersonal skills; the ability to understand, establish credibility with and bridge the communication between senior business stakeholders and development teams, and the leadership to drive continued progress towards the strategic architecture direction.
Key Responsibilities and Accountability
The Enterprise Architect works directly with senior management in both business and IT to develop an integrated view of the enterprise that:
(1) aligns planning and investments with business strategy
(2) improves business efﬁciency by identifying change opportunities
(3) focuses on future state capabilities and translates how the strategy will be operationalized
(4) articulates various aspects of the business and discover synergy, efficiency, and productivity opportunities at the enterprise level.
To facilitate a common understanding across teams, the Enterprise Architect is responsible for building and maintaining comprehensive enterprise architecture models demonstrating how products, business operations, and systems interoperate within the organization.
The Enterprise Architect also provides guidance and direction to solution architects, application designers and product owners to ensure that solutions adhere to the architectural principles, intent and roadmap.
Required Job Qualiﬁcations:
For this position, we are looking for an Enterprise Architect who is excellent in both verbal and written communication, able to lead and influence both the business and IT, and is very structured, analytical and thrives on delivering results.
The successful candidate will be expected to contribute fully as a hands-on EA and be able to leverage their knowledge in deﬁning and helping to bridge the gap between business and technology, with the following skills:
