Responsibilities:


  • Primary responsible for developing fluid/thermal models to support design and test support of secondary flow systems
  • Use models to support test operations and product improvements
  • Develop 3D thermal models based on interaction with the design and engine system analysis team
  • Improve existing analytical capabilities, including process automation tools
  • Develop best practices for analysis methods
  • Provide guidance to design engineers to improve the performance of designs
  • Communicate analysis results to the team

Qualifications:


  • Minimum of a B.S. degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering and 1+ years of experience in thermal modeling
  • Knowledge of rocket engine thermal problems including turbo-machinery, nozzles, and thermal environment definition.
  • Ability to work effectively in teams
  • Ability to be self-directed and balance several tasks at one time
  • Ability to communicate analysis results effectively
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Desired:


  • 0-3 years of thermal analysis experience
  • Knowledge of a fluid/thermal network modeling software such as Sinda/Fluint
  • Knowledge of turbo-machinery and seals
  • Knowledge of at least one programming/scripting language (Python/MATLAB/etc)
