Job Description

General Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage global Engineering training systems, processes, tools, and documentation. 
  • Own the creation and management of the global Engineering training curriculum
  • Develop and standardize Engineering new-hire onboarding process
  • Develop and maintain Engineering continuing education program
  • Administrate and maintain training electronic and hard copy files and records
  • System Administrator of Engineering electronic documentation and data management systems (EDMS), such as Microsoft Sharepoint

Specific Duties:


  • Create, administer, and deliver training programs for the global Engineering organization
  • Assess the needs of the Engineering organization
  • Work with Engineering site directors and managers in creation and organization of training curriculum
  • Interface with other local and 3rd party resources to supplement the internal training platform
  • Maintain electronic and hard copy training records
  • Work with SME’s to train personnel on the use of the many various programs and systems in use by the company
  • Administrative assistance with both local site and global training events and training communications
  • Develop custom training programs that take place in a classroom, computer laboratory, or training facility.
  • Organize or offer training sessions using lectures, group discussions, team exercises, hands-on examples, and other training formats.
  • Establish/Create training in the form of a video, Web-based program, or self-guided instructional manual.
  • Monitor instructors, guide employees through media-based programs, or facilitate informal or collaborative learning programs.
  • Adhere to and ensure compliance of all Company policies, rules, procedures and housekeeping standards
  • Assess training needs through surveys, interviews with employees, or consultations with managers or instructors
  • Monitor and evaluate training programs to ensure they are current and effective
  • Design and create training manuals, online learning modules, and course materials
  • Review training materials from a variety of vendors and choose appropriate materials
  • Deliver training to employees using a variety of instructional techniques
  • Monitor and evaluate training programs to ensure they are current and effective
  • Perform administrative tasks such as monitoring costs, scheduling classes, setting up systems and equipment, and coordinating enrollment
  • Other duties as assigned

Document Management

  • Manage Documentation and Data Management System as primary super administrator for the database production and test environments
  • Collaborate with corporate training system development architects to adopt systems and processes for global Engineering department
  • Administrate, set up and maintain EDMS user roles, rights, securities and visibilities as well as folder structures and continuous improvements to the EDMS
  • Training data entry into EDMS and training records auditing
  • Work with corporate and local IT departments to establish and maintain EDMS


  • Experience with Engineering and Project management / Project systems
  • Plant experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
  • Ability to manage multiple activities with varied scope, schedule, priorities, and locations
  • 5-10 years of relevant experience, with a preferred 3+ years of experience delivering training in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong computer and analytical skills
  • Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Sharepoint and other document management platforms
  • Knowledge or experience with documentation and records compliance within a regulated industry
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to maintain collaborative partnerships.
  • Travel required (Up to 25%) to engineering contractor offices and visit international/domestic plant sites as needed to support project engineering activities
  • A leader in safety for the organization including setting expectations and being visible in the office/field
  • Independent, Pro-Active and Self-Starter
  • Multi-lingual ability a plus (Spanish or Mandarin)

Education & Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Related Field (i.e. Engineering; Training and Development; Human Resources; Education; Instructional Design; Computer Science; Information Technology; Organizational Psychology etc.)
  • Experience in the chemical/petrochemical industry preferred
  • Experience in information technology would be preferred as organization is introducing more e-learning and technology-based tools
