SHELADIA is in the process of developing a Domestic Department of Defense (DOD) program and seeking potential candidates to establish a DOD Program Team. This team will support design, design-bid-build, design-build and various infrastructure and concept planning supporting new construction, site adapt-construction, renovations and repairs, operations & maintenance (asset management), reconfiguration of existing facilities, general building renovations, facility renovation, facility repairs/alterations, command and control facilities, training facilities, medical facilities fuel distribution and storage systems, power plants, road construction, and airfields.
Serves as DOD Team Engineering Technicianfor a wide range of conventional and unconventional Military and civilian Construction projects.
Specifically, Serves as the DOD Technical Support Specialist:
•Identifies requirements and implements advanced analytical techniques to solve complex GIS issues.•Updates and maintains maps, gathers data from surveys –visual, physical, and real property data.•Uses knowledge of surveying, geodesy, photogrammetry, mapping, engineering, Geospatial Information Systems, and computers to plan, coordinate, and accomplish all GIS tasks necessary to support a variety of projects in the areas of planning, design and construction.•References various industry standards and codes to determine the exact requirements for facilities related construction work.•Investigates engineering problems on construction contracts to resolve contract interpretation discrepancies.•Develops drawings and sketches for project implementation (e.g., facility layouts, facility equipment design, modification drawings, equipment design modification).•Utilizes computer-aided design and drafting (CADD) system to create, modify, delete, transfer, copy, and store graphic files in the preparation of project drawings and other related data.•Determines the most effective CADD presentation of design data to clarify and portray as intended.•Preparing estimates and reports on expected time for completion of work.•Assists in the review of DOD team work.•Develops cost estimates of components for proposed projects; calculate life-cycle costs on individual equipment.•Develop statements of work covering technical engineeringdesigns or engineering changes for contracts and solicitations.
Minimum requirements:•5 yrs. Experience/ 3 YRS supporting DOD projects.•Bachelor’s Degree with a major in engineering, engineering science, physics, or mathematics.•1 year of specialized experience which includes utilize design software and computerized drafting and design hardware to assist in designing maps, models, and drawings.•Familiarity/Ability to use SPECSINTACT, Unified Facilities Criteria, AutoCAD, GIS, MS Project, Primavera, MicroStation.•Cost Estimation and Analysis.•Security Clearance or Ability to Obtain a Secret Clearance.
•Secret Security Clearance•Proficient experience in working in AutoCAD program to create project documents.•Knowledge of civil engineering concepts, principles and practices a familiarity with other engineering disciplines and architecture.•Knowledge of engineering and construction standards, methods, practices and techniques materials and equipment to determine compliance with federal, state and local codes and regulations.•Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental requirements as outlined in applicable standards, regulations, and/or technical orders.•Knowledge of Federal contracting and procurement processes including contracting ethics.
