Kforce is working with an established and growing Technology company in the Phoenix, AZ area that is looking for a Engineering Project Manager. The Engineering Project Manager works within the R&D department and is responsible for managing development of new products from concept to release. Essential Functions:

  • Develop and execute project plans from concept to product release
  • Develop and maintain project schedules
  • Estimate product and project costs
  • Requirements generation and development of system architecture
  • Supervise day to day activities of engineers to achieve project goals
  • Chair Project meetings
  • Program reviews with executive staff
  • Coordinate activity and ensure clear communication for all projects with marketing, finance, accounting, purchasing, IT, and manufacturing


  • Graduation from a four-year college or university with a Bachelor of Science or Master's degree in an Engineering discipline, or closely related technical area
  • 5-10 years of experience managing the development of engineering products as a Project Manager
  • Experience more on the electricalengineering side of development is desired
  • Experience managing the development of electro-mechanical products in a fast-paced commercial/industrial environment
  • Experience developing and executing project plans using phase-gate or other formal project management methodology
  • Experience managing engineering projects within a team of electrical, mechanical, and software engineers in a product development environment
  • Experience and familiarity with commercial electronic products is a plus
  • Experience developing product cost and development cost estimates
  • Experience managing the development of product architectures and system requirements
  • Proficient at developing and maintaining project schedules using MS Project or similar project management software
  • Must have broad enough technical knowledge to understand the relevant and important facets of electronic, mechanical, and software design efforts
  • Ability to manage effectively in a cross-functional environment, working closely with all aspects of the business including marketing, operations, materials, finance, and information technology
  • Must have excellent communication skills and the ability to provide clear and concise project status to the executive staff through written reports and periodic program reviews
  • Extremely detail-oriented with the ability to organize and prioritize tasks and activities
