Coordinate construction activities for conveyor systems projects, such as overseeing bid packages and contractors, facilitating process improvements, managing quality control, and ensuring end results meet cost and quality specifications and compliance regulations.
*** Discuss recommendations with corporate management to coordinate new construction projects and prioritize construction, re-modeling, or conveyor system installation and re-design requests to meet district needs and available budget.
*** Assist district in development and approval process of Request for Appropriation to facilitate approval from management.
*** Communicate across the Plant Engineering levels of management to ensure agreement on design and status of the project, including cost, quality, schedule, etc.
*** Qualify vendors prior to contract signing to confirm capacity to meet project requirements by verifying certifications are current, interviewing vendor representatives, validating references, etc.
*** Inspect facilities and construction regularly to ensure adherence to contract specifications.
*** Track expenditures against financial targets and describe impact of area budget on organizational financial plan.
*** Regularly meet with mechanics, contractors, supervisors, part-time supervisors and housekeeping porters to identify and address issues.
*** Research past issues with conveyor systems and alternatives for the most cost effective option to accept or decline construction improvement requests.
*** Create design modifications or process improvements to address conveyor system or package flow problems.
*** Identify required end user training on operation of newly constructed equipment or conveyor systems, and conduct training or hire contractors to train employees.
