Key Accountabilities

? The First Level Manager, Research and Development Portfolio Management oversees the performance of research performed across multiple sites.? The role influences corporate technology strategies, technology and product roadmaps and is directly responsible for the portfolio management processes and R&D financial plan.  The role assists in developing corporate technology strategies, technology and product roadmaps and is directly responsible for managing the R&D Portfolio processes.???

??The portfolio management team and IP technical experts report directly to the first level manager.? He/she will need to collaborate effectively with counterparts in the R&D and Manufacturing Technology team, Product Development teams and Engineering teams.? The first level manager works with leadership to define and allocate funds for the technologyportfolio.? The first level manager guides colleagues and direct reports in documenting and adhering to the technology processes and procedures.? Listening to customer needs and enabling solutions is critical in this role.? Leading effective portfolio meetings, creating and maintaining processes that enable the research organization to execute effectively with minimal overhead burden and developing and reporting on portfolio analytics are critical skill sets for this position.? The first level manager reports to the Director of Advanced Research, Portfolio Management and CRAD.


Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Systems, Robotics/automation system controls, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics or related; Masters Degreepreferred.
  • 5-7 years of experience of R&D Portfolio Management. 
  • Aerospace structures manufacturing experience (composites and metals) and R&D Portfolio Management experiencerequired.
