Fairport, NY is the headquarters for the Bosch Security Systems sales organization in the United States and serves as the primary site for research and development, engineering, quality and product management for intrusion detection systems, including state-of-the-art sensors, control panels, communicators and more. 

Job Description

Responsible for managing the product compliance, validation and shared engineering services department including Mechanical design, Electronic circuit layout, System testing and automation and certification to global standards.

  • Manage and lead an organization focused on developing Intrusion systems, services and technologies as part of integrated security solutions for buildings (IOT systems). These products encompass amongst other things: edge devices, networking devices, controllers, IP and cellular communicators, cloud communication infrastructure, user interfaces, remote programming utilities, central station receivers.
  • Work with peers on a global scale to develop intrusion systems based on a common global platform, foster an inclusive environment and encourage knowledge sharing and boundary-less collaboration.
  • Responsible for managing product and technology compliance to UL, ULc, EN, CCC and other global standards and working relationship with regulatory labs and agencies worldwide.
  • Instill a spirit of creativity and agility to transform R&D department from “implementation machine” to “innovation driver”, supporting the evolution from single domain intrusion systems to integrated, networked and smart security solutions.
  • Provide direction in regards to design for quality, cost efficiency, performance, usability and manufacturability based on Bosch engineering processes and industry standards.
  • Implement and enforce company product compliance procedures.
  • Maintain a culture of diligence in execution including appropriate principles and tools such as QFD, Pugh, FMEA, and DFMA, as well as close collaboration with all functions.
  • Develop talent through training, coaching and knowledge transfer.
  • Collaborate with engineering managers to adequately staff projects according to their priorities and identify skill gaps, which need to be addressed.

Qualifications

You hold a Bachelor's degree in an Engineering program; a Masters / Post-Graduate degree is preferred.

Excellent communication, interpersonal and leadership skills are essential. You have a high level of independence and intrinsic motivation. You bring experience in an international work environment.You have an entrepreneurial mindset and results orientation.

Must have a minimum of 5+ years experience in engineering management

R&D leadership position (5+ years) in electronic systems or sensor systems is required

Experience working in a global setting

Experience working with regulatory labs and notified bodies
