About You

    • You have 5+ years of professional web development experience
    • You have 2+ years of managing software development teams, managing remote teams a plus   
    • You’ve seen projects fail and projects succeed and can explain why either happened
    • You have worked with teams who have used Java or .NET on the back end and can integrate seamlessly with one or both of those technologies
    • You have familiarity with modern web frameworks – Django, Rails, Node.js, React JS, Angular    
    • You know how a successful software engineering team works    
    • You have excellent communication skills    
    • You can still write code, but you’re committed to building and leading teams 
    • You enjoy agile practices such as pair programming, TDD, story planning, etc.    
    • You have worked using lean methodologies and can be a champion of lean within the organization    
    • You’re committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive team    
    • You enjoy mentoring others just as much as you enjoy solving hard problems    

What You'll Be Doing

    • Leading the software development efforts for Big Decisions a product in the Digital Operations Space    
    • Managing 4-5 teams of software developers (working directly with the Technical Leads) and report to the Director of Engineering for the Horizontals vertical    
    • Mentoring, coaching, and training your reports on how to set quarterly goals, creating plans to achieve them, and unblocking any obstacles along the way 
    • Directing the teams to both maintain existing systems as well as potentially implement modern replacements with direction from the Principal Architect 
    • Utilizing lean and agile software development methodologies to deliver world-class products to market, while employing cutting-edge continuous integration and continuous delivery strategies    
    • Working with the product leadership to define roadmaps and direct your team's efforts
