Job Description

As an Engineering Manager in Quality and Service Management you will be in charge of leading a team of experienced engineers working in Quality Assurance and Quality Control. In close cooperation with our cross functional teams you will own the release process for our tools, planning and executing regular maintenance releases as well as for new product launches. It will be crucial that quality and efficiency are built into the product development lifecycle early on in the process.

Activities for your team range from manual validation, with a focus on automation and user-experience testing, to improving quality assurance through the engineering process. Your team will use state of the art continuous integration test automation and customer beta testing, to push the boundaries of what our products can deliver to our customers.

You will lead team members at both of our development locations in Kalamazoo, MI and Owatonna, MN and receive further support from our offshore teams.

You will be expected to

  • Develop a sustainable, healthy work environment which is both encouraging and challenging
  • Represent 'Quality' in all its aspects within the cross functional product leadership team
  • Derive focus areas for quality improvement and lead related improvement activities
  • Implement service management practices in product engineering
  • Increase team efficiency especially through test automation and utilization of state-of-the-art test methods
  • Drive team building within your department and the cross-functional product team


  • Bachelor of Computer Science or degree in a similar engineering discipline
  • 5+ years of work experience in Product Engineering, with 3+ years specific to Validation and Automation
  • Demonstrated ability to grow and lead engineering teams with a focus on software testing
  • Demonstrated know-how of testing methods, quality principles and quality control procedures
  • Strong communication skills to translate technical details into decision-making across a wide range of hierarchy levels
  • ISQB Advanced Level certification preferred
  • Knowledge of ITIL both in theory and practice preferred
  • Willingness to travel (both domestic as well as international) - up to 25%.
