Job Description

Position Overview:
Phillips-Medisize, a Molex Company, is seeking an Engineering Manager – New Product Introduction to oversee new product introduction at our Costa Mesa facility and ensure that facility business plan objectives are met by providing direction and leadership for engineering; while emphasizing the priorities of safety, quality and efficiency.

Essential Functions:


In partnership with the Program Manager, successfully transition programs from development to production, supporting the transition phase of projects from development (pre-PAR) to production approval.
Support overall engineering processes for technical expertise and resource as necessary in support of facility business.

Develop the facility engineering business plan by developing and maintaining budget controls on capital equipment projects and requirements.
Provide direction and leadership to engineering group including people management as follows: managing performance; addressing disciplinary issues; hiring; assisting people with career development; communicating information to direct reports, passing information up the management chain and fostering open communication; ensuring team is aligned with and accomplishing goals/objectives; administrative processing; and, maintaining trust and confidentiality while fostering a team environment.
Manage the activities of engineers which includes functions such as project engineering.
In partnership with the Program Manager, successfully transition programs from development to production, supporting the transition phase of projects from development (pre-PAR) to production approval.
Responsible for satisfying customer expectations on product quality and timely delivery.
Support sales with proposals and quotes.
Develop the facility engineering business plan by developing and maintaining budget controls on capital equipment projects and requirements.
Attend and contribute to staff and facility meetings.

Position Qualifications

Required Qualifications:


Bachelors Degree in engineering, or related field.
10+ years applied engineering experience.
5+ years supervisory/leadership experience.
Working knowledge of process control equipment.
Broad knowledge of materials and processes.
Demonstrated knowledge of engineering systems.
